An evening at Jadhav Gadh

After a very long time I am here. May be from now onwards will be regularly writing the reviews about the events or sites those I have visited. I will also be uploading some photos and useful links.

So this morning I woke up to think about a resort where I can spend my pleasant evening and thankfully my wife suggested about Jadav Gadh.

History

The story of Fort Jadhavgadh starts from the man who was as strong in mind and body as the stone structure he created. Pilaji Jadhavrao was the Maratha General in the army of Chhatrapati Shahuji. In 1707, Chhatrapati Shahuji, the grandson of the great Chhatrapati Shivaji, was released after 21 years of imprisonment by the Mughal ruler Shahjahan.

The fort is now transformed into a resort where you can spend a day or two. It's a quite a pleasant place to spend the day with your partner. Yes, without children it will be great, but with children accompany somebody along to look after them. Otherwise, you can spoil the stay.

Resort

The resort is located at Hadapsar Saswad Road, Jadhavwadi, Pune, Maharashtra 412301. If you are a localite, then there won't be any problem in finding the resort. However, if you are outstation, the most popular place is Hadapsar. From there you can find the easy road towards the fort.

Pros-Cons

Everything has a pros and cons and you will have to accept those. Somewhere you also have to adjust as per the surroundings.

Pros:

Location: As this is a fort, you can expect calm and resources full environment.
Road: The main road is good enough with four lane highway.
Climate: Much of the resort is open sky, but climate depends on the visiting season. Ideal during the month of Summer or Winter season.
Food: The quality is good and they serve barbeque style, both veg and non-veg along with drinks.
Arrangements: The resort is also wide enough for big party events where they have the resources for it, like speakers, stage, buffet dinner/lunch, and so on.
Activities: Not very interesting activities are there except for the swimming pool for children and adults, but that's the way the fort is. You go there to relax and have good food. You can also enjoy the spa.

Cons:

Road: The highway road is a bit clumsy and the road towards the fort is in very bad shape, though the distance is very less.
Cost: The cost seems to be unexpectedly high.
Management: The people either, at the gate where you pay, do not have the appropriate information. If you have to visit and just view the fort, you have to take a package.
